Anitmoto.com has created a service that allows for users to quickly upload a series of images which it them makes a decent little movie out of with a soundtrack of your choice. the interface is very simple and very clean. I created this on the animoto iphone app in few minutes.

This cool little app tracks your mouse movements over a period of time and create an image such as this. This is 5 hours of work for me. Notice how there are lots of dark spots where the brush tool is in Photoshop  and also the layers palette.

We have had Photoshop CS4 running in the studio for a couple of months now. I have to say I have not seen a need to open up sketchbook pro since. Adobe Photoshop CS4 has made dramatic improvements to it’s tablet sketching sensitivity in this release. It still is not as good as Sketchbook Pro, but just the fact that you have all those tools sitting there in the same interface does it for me. The sketchbook Pro’s interface is revolutionary and seamless but Phototshop has tons of goodies that we all know about and love and that little difference in tablet sensitivity is just not enough for me to go back to sketchbook.

Found this great ID drawing book at the art store the other day. Very current and up to date information on sketching and how these techniques integrate with 3d modeling.

I recently picked another old used bike to convert to a fixed gear. I love reclaiming old things and recycling them into something special and new. I picked up this one for $10 on craigslist and converted it for another $35. Great little project.

A new Black and Decker commercial is airing right now on major networks. The commercial is showcasing our all new Smart Select family of products.Most of the commercial highlights the drill that I worked on. Watch the video and you will see many of my sketches and renderings that I did for the development of this drill. Look all over the wall and on the chalkboard.

Ideo has designed some designed some great products over the years. They then went on to tackle  larger than tangible design problems effecting society every day. The latest bit I find very compelling. They have designed, from the ground up, their company intranet to better be utilized as a collaboration and managment tool. the interface is clean and the design is approachable, two of the best practices for getting people to start using a new technology. The “tube” as they call it, features project managment tools, wikis, personal bios and blogs, and project pages where team member can post data.  This is the growing trend in the future. Companies need to find creative ways to build culture and promote collaboration.
